ArmInfo.Following a meeting on May 27, chaired by the head of the Union of Armenians of Russia (UAR), Ara Abrahamyan, the leaders of Armenian organizations in Russia unanimously adopted a resolution.
According to the UAR press service, the resolution issued by the heads of regional branches of the UAR and other national and cultural associations of Armenians in Russia ahead of the upcoming parliamentary elections in Armenia on June 7, calls on Armenians to actively participate in the country's electoral processes and cast their ballots for one of the three opposition parties running under numbers 3, 7, and 17 on the ballot. Chronologically, these refer to Samvel Karapetyan's "Strong Armenia" bloc, Robert Kocharyan's "Armenia" alliance, and Gagik Tsarukyan's "Prosperous Armenia" party.
The resolution notes that the eight-year rule of Nikol Pashinyan and his ruling political force has resulted in the loss of Artsakh for Armenia and the Armenian people, sparked a crisis in relations with the Armenian Diaspora, and led to indiscriminate attacks on the Armenian Apostolic Holy Church the spiritual and moral backbone that unites all Armenians as well as the persecution of Armenian clergy. Furthermore, the resolution cites a rampant increase in the national debt, a crisis in relations with partners in the defensive and economic blocs (the CSTO and the EAEU), and the emerging risk of Armenia losing its sole strategic ally, Russia.
"All of this carries an inevitable threat of irreversible and irreparable losses for our national identity, state sovereignty and security, and and leads to an even greater weakening of our nation's resilience against existing challenges. Precisely because of this, the unfolding situation cannot be viewed merely as an internal matter for Armenia; it is the concern of Armenians worldwide, who have always identified themselves with the Homeland, and no one has the right to deprive them of the opportunity to participate in its life and development.
Dear citizens of Armenia! The vote of each of you is decisive for the future of Armenia. Be sure to take an active part in the voting in the elections to the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia on June 7, 2026. Do not give in to emotions, intimidation and pressure, cast your vote for those forces that advocate for peace and a strong Armenian statehood, the establishment of equal and dignified relations with all neighboring states through a balanced policy, but not at the cost of losing old friends and allies. Vote for one of the three opposition parties under numbers 3, 7 and 17 on the electoral list so that your children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren can remain Armenians and live in a strong, secure and prosperous country," the resolution reads.
