ArmInfo.US presidents typically exercise caution when it comes to interfering in other countries' elections. Americanist Suren Sargsyan wrote about this on his Facebook page.
"Trump's support for the current Armenian government. Trump posted this on his social media page on the eve of the Armenian elections. Before Trump came to power, this wasn't a common occurrence in American politics. US presidents typically exercise caution when it comes to interfering in other countries' elections or supporting a particular candidate, and even when they do support them, they do so subtly and indirectly, as, for example, Obama or Bush Jr. did. Unlike previous presidents, Trump directly supported Pashinyan, just as he would support any US senator or governor," the expert noted.
In his opinion, the goal of all this is the export of resources from Central Asia through TRIPP, which is one of the Trump administration's priorities in the South Caucasus.
As a reminder, earlier today, US President Donald Trump and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan exchanged pleasantries. Donald Trump wrote on the social network TruthSocial that he fully and unconditionally supports Pashinyan in the June 7, 2026, elections. Pashinyan, in turn, wrote on the social network X: "Thank you, Mr. President Donald Trump, for your high praise and kind words."
