ArmInfo. The Anti-Corruption Committee of Armenia has reported another wave of detentions involving supporters of the "Strong Armenia" party, who are accused of "giving and receiving electoral bribes, violating the ban on charity, and obstructing the free exercise of human rights."
According to the official statement, despite the legislative ban, a candidate from the "Strong Armenia" party has allegedly arranged to cover the apartment rent for several voters in the Lori region. Furthermore, the report notes that in order to complicate the monitoring of cash flows, those involved "planned to use Russian bank cards for their financial transactions". Consequently, a criminal case has been initiated, several individuals have been detained, searches have been conducted, and other procedural actions have been taken.
It's worth noting that this isn't the first time Armenian law enforcement has detained supporters of the main opposition forces on charges of bribery. The "Strong Armenia" party itself, reacting to these detentions, claims that this is yet another attempt to interfere in the electoral process by creating an uneven playing field, with the ultimate goal of intimidating party members and obstructing their activities
