ArmInfo. During an extraordinary session on May 14, the Central Electoral Commission (CEC) of the Republic of Armenia annulled the registration of 45 candidates for the upcoming parliamentary elections.
According to the CEC, these candidates—representing various party lists—submitted formal applications to withdraw from the race. Per legal requirements, the applications were either notarized or confirmed in person by the applicants during the CEC session. The Commission rejected one withdrawal request because it lacked notarization and the candidate failed to appear in person.
Under the RA Electoral Code, candidates and participating parties or blocs must submit withdrawal applications no later than 6:00 PM on May 28 (10 days prior to election day). Additionally, the Commission filled vacancies in electoral districts No. 15, No. 19, and No. 29 via preferential voting.
