ArmInfo. The Anti-Corruption Committee of Armenia is conducting searches at the Spitak office of the "Armenia" bloc of second Armenian President Robert Kocharyan. The political party confirmed this information, stating that such actions will not intimidate them.
"You will not intimidate us with searches and arrests. The actions taking place in our Spitak office and the persecution of our colleagues are not unexpected. This style of law enforcement has long been the hallmark of the current administration. These actions once again prove that the government lacks public support and confidence in its own forces and resorts to such measures to ensure their reproduction," the political party said in a statement published on Facebook. The bloc emphasized that what is happening is not a legitimate process, but another cheap attempt to hinder the normal functioning of the political force.
"The government is using such methods to sow an atmosphere of fear, but this only strengthens our conviction that the chosen path is the right one. No searches or arrests will change our political program. Our team knows what it is fighting for. We call on our citizens to respond to all illegal actions of the government on June 7 by rejecting the authoritarian regime established in Armenia," the bloc concluded.
Earlier, it was reported that the Anti-Corruption Committee was conducting searches at the Armenia bloc's office in Spitak, and arrests were also reported. The agency promised to provide details on the situation later.
