Former President: The strength of an army  is a factor of peace, not  war

ArmInfo.  "We must strive for peace, but one of the most fundamental obstacles to peace is the strength of the army, military force, which I consider to be not a  factor of war, but a factor of peace,"  Levon Ter-Petrosyan, the  first president of the Republic of Armenia, wrote on social media.   Recall, Yerkrapah Day is celebrated in Armenia today. The Shushi  Liberation Operation took place on these days in 1992.

In this regard, the office of Serzh Sargsyan, the third president of  the Republic of Armenia, released a statement. According to the  statement, a wreath was laid at the Yerablur memorial complex for  fallen servicemen on behalf of the former president. "Today, on  behalf of Serzh Sargsyan, the third president of the Republic of  Armenia and Chairman of the Republican Party of Armenia, a wreath was  laid at at the memorial wall in Yerablur military pantheon,  immortalizing the heroism of the brave souls who sacrificed their  lives for the freedom and independence of the Homeland," the  statement reads.
