ArmInfo. French President Emmanuel Macron has shared a post on his Twitter account following his visit to the Tsitsernakaberd Memorial Complex, dedicated to the victims of the Armenian Genocide in the Ottoman Empire.
"Returning to this place of memory and duty, face to face with what has no statute of limitations. May each name echo and may oblivion recede. France remains forever shoulder to shoulder with the Armenian people, in respect and in memory of the genocide they endured and the many stolen lives," Macron wrote.
France officially recognized the Armenian Genocide of 1915 in the Ottoman Empire by adopting the corresponding law No. 2001-70 of January 29, 2001. April 24 has been officially proclaimed as the Day of Remembrance for the Victims of the Armenian Genocide in France.
