Aliyev, Meloni held expanded meeting in Baku

ArmInfo. Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev held meetings with Giorgia Meloni, President of the Council of Ministers of the Italian Republic, in narrow and expanded formats.

Meloni arrived in Baku from Yerevan, where she had participated in  the European Political Community summit. Following the talks, Aliyev  and Meloni delivered press statements.

Aliyev noted that the Italian market is of primary importance for  Baku, for both  oil and gas. Last year, Azerbaijan exported 25  billion cubic meters of natural gas, of which 9.5 billion were  exported to the Italian market.

Announcing that negotiations are currently underway to increase these  volumes, Aliyev noted that this naturally requires expanding the TAP  project, which is an integral part of the Southern Gas Corridor
