Strong Armenia promises Charentsavan residents  to restore  city`s  industrial potential

Strong Armenia promises Charentsavan residents  to restore  city`s  industrial potential

ArmInfo. The Strong Armenia party  has officially opened  its office  in  Charentsavan, Kotayk region.

According to the political party's press service, during a meeting  with residents of Charentsavan, Narek Karapetyan, a board member of  the party, spoke plans for  Armenia's industralization. He noted that  previously, everyone associated the town with jobs, as Charentsavan  was founded on an industrial foundation. "Today, only a few  institutions remain here, and most of the businesses have closed.   Meanwhile, when someone wants to highlight the strengths of the  country and its cities, they talk about a strong economy, about how  rich the country is, and how it can produce. Charentsavan was  precisely such a city, capable of producing. The city had something  to give to the world, and at the same time, it could feed its  residents, providing them with jobs," Karapetyan recalled.

Today, as the Party Council member pointed out, the country exports  zinc concentrate worth $20 million annually and imports 15,000 tons  of galvanized product worth $60 million. "That is, we export zinc,  they process it, and then sell it to us at twice the price.

But the problem is that we can't do this right here in the country.  The problem is finding a leader who could organize it. And when they  ask us how we will create  jobs we're talking about, here's the  answer: the country won't import it; it will produce it itself,"  Karapetyan stated. He also stated that with Samvel Karapetyan's  accession to power, the country will see humanism. He noted that  under the current government, people are being persecuted and  criminal cases are being opened against them, creating an atmosphere  of hatred in the country. "Meanwhile, humanism presupposes respect  for each other. We must learn to respect each other again," he  stated.

Speaking about Armenia's security, he  noted that the Armenian  authorities are trying to convince the people that they have achieved  peace.  While acknowledging that the Armenian people desire peace  because it offers them hope, Karapetyan recalled that the person whom  the Armenian leadership today calls the guarantor of peace in  Armenia—Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev—had spoken on this matter.   Specifically, he had stated that "the Azerbaijani people must return  to their historical lands not in tanks, but in cars." "In essence,  dear compatriots, there is peace in Artsakh now. But there are no  Armenians there.  We are promised peace and told that the President  of Azerbaijan is its guarantor. Don't believe it. There has never  been a case where the President of Azerbaijan said something and  didn't do anything. Just as there has never been a case where Aliyev  demanded something and the current leadership of our country failed  to fulfill it. I ask our compatriots to take our common homeland  seriously. They (the Azerbaijanis - ed.) will come and provoke new  conflicts. And this will become the basis for them to invade our  country," Karapetyan emphasized.

Rhetorically asking why the Armenian authorities are not doing  anything to stop this, he recalled that it was they who gave up the  road to Syunik, 30% of the homeland, and expressed his conviction  that sooner or later, they will surrender the entire country. "When  we say we need a strong country, we say it for a reason – we simply  have no other choice. And sooner or later, we will have it. Our  country will be made strong by someone with extensive experience. We  intend to implement programs in Charentsavan with outcomes visible  year after year. And it is your production that will ensure Armenia's  strength. We will achieve all this through our joint efforts,"  Karapetyan concluded.
