


ArmInfo.On April 24, on the 111th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, a commemoration ceremony was held at the Armenian khachkar (cross-stone) erected in Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan. The ceremony honored the victims of the Mets Yeghern, the Armenian Genocide, who were subjected to massacre, deportation, and famine in the Ottoman Empire because of their Armenian heritage, as reported by the Embassy of the Republic of Armenia in Kazakhstan.
Following the wreath-laying ceremony, a prayer was held for the victims of the Armenian Genocide. Representatives from the Armenian diplomatic mission in Kazakhstan, as well as leaders and representatives from the Armenian community, participated in the commemoration event.
