ArmInfo. Armenia is a small country, but with great potential and opportunities that should serve its development and progress. This was stated by Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP) leader Gagik Tsarukyan at a meeting with residents of the Margahovit, Debed, and Dsegh communities of Lori, which was held as part of the election campaign ahead of the upcoming June elections.
He noted that during such regional meetings, residents raise a variety of issues: from security to the economy, from healthcare to education, from bureaucratic barriers to social and agricultural problems. These problems, according to the party leader, require clear and systematic solutions. "Unfortunately, rural residents today are often left alone to deal with their difficulties. Regional visits are an opportunity not only to learn about problems but also to build trust. In this warm atmosphere, the importance of listening, understanding, and finding solutions together becomes clearer. Our path is clear: national unity, internal solidarity, and mutual respect," Tsarukyan noted.
The party leader recalled that the Armenian people have always walked with their heads held high, but today they have been deprived of this pride. "Today we are broken because our economy and our former way of life have been destroyed. Rural residents must want to live in their homes, and for this to happen, they must be provided with benefits, for example, property tax reductions. Today, Armenia lacks a ministry specifically responsible for resolving problems in Armenia's villages. This is unacceptable, because there must be a place where they can turn to present their problems," Tsarukyan believes. Tsarukyan expressed his conviction that no issue can be resolved, and a true leader of the country must understand, without words, what needs to be done to give people the opportunity to work and live. "To achieve all this, we need to develop the economy. If we can ensure 10-12% annual economic growth, we will be able to generate an additional 300 billion drams, which we can distribute to areas where we have problems. In the country's development, we must also utilize our national potential. And for this, it is essential to have professional personnel in every sector. Today, important positions are held by people without relevant experience," the PAP leader noted.
According to him, their "Armenia's Proposal" program covers all the issues that concern the Armenian people today, and he assured that their resolution will significantly improve the quality of life in the country. During meetings with residents of communities in the Lori region, the party leader also presented their vision for achieving stable and long-term peace in the region. He emphasized that true peace must be guaranteed. "Today, our compatriots are imprisoned in Baku, the territories are occupied, and they continue to demand the 'return' of 300,000 Azerbaijanis to Armenia. Therefore, we must have two or three major guarantors of peace," the party leader noted.
Tsarukyan also pointed to Armenia's growing foreign debt year after year. He is confident that this is the result of the Armenian authorities' inaction. "Meanwhile, I have contacts all over the world who can help lead the country out of the situation it finds itself in today," the PAP leader concluded.
As a reminder, parliamentary elections in Armenia are scheduled for June 7, 2026.
