ArmInfo. During a briefing, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova compared the behavior of European Union countries to the piglet from Boris Zakhoder's fairy tale "Oink on the Christmas Tree." This was reported by TASS.
The diplomat recalled that in the story, a completely unbehaved piglet was allowed into a children's party.
"It ended with him climbing the tree, knocking everything over, breaking everything, and being thrown out in disgrace," she said.
The Foreign Ministry spokesperson noted that EU countries have been demanding for years that they be invited to the negotiating table, that they be seated at the table, or that we provide them with a place at it. She emphasized that they will not be allowed into a "respectable home" as long as they behave like that very same piglet.
"Who will enter into agreements with them that they themselves are violating? Who will give them a place at the table where they are already placing not just their feet, but their paws? Who will offer them anything in the long term if they have betrayed themselves even in the medium term?" Zakharova continued.
She added that, therefore, EU countries must learn to behave in a civilized manner on the international stage, be accountable for their words, and fulfill their agreements. Furthermore, they must work on their mistakes, acknowledge "all their criminal actions," and draw a "global conclusion" regarding their "criminal behavior," the diplomat believes.
