ArmInfo. The most important achievement of the current Armenian authorities over the past five years is the established peace with Azerbaijan. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated this from the podium of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia on April 16.
He noted that another achievement was the introduction of a mandatory health insurance system and other related social developments stemming from this system, ranging from consistent pension increases to a cashback system. The prime minister also highlighted the program for assistance with the birth of a third and subsequent child, and the guardianship program for children under two years of age.
Nikol Pashinyan also noted the importance of reforming the public administration system, which allows citizens, after passing certification, to significantly increase their salaries. Reforms in the armed forces are of strategic importance. No less urgent is the introduction of a new remuneration system, based on the concept of efficiency. This program, as the Prime Minister noted, is a pilot project, and there is every reason to believe it will be legally regulated this fall.
The Prime Minister believes that reforms in defense and education have reached such a level that they have become irreversible. At the same time, Nikol Pashinyan pointed to two areas with serious problems: water management and the justice system, which have been accumulating for years without being resolved. Overall, reforming the judicial system will be impossible without the adoption of a new Constitution, as the problems, under the current situation, continue to simmer due to inertia.
To address these issues, a new Constitution is needed to remove artificial obstacles and finally resolve the existing problems in the judicial system.
