ArmInfo. The implementation of the TRIPP (Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity - Ed.) program remains a priority for the United States, and we are receiving confirmation of this at the highest level. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan made this statement in response to questions from members of parliament, addressing concerns about international media reports that the United States is losing interest in this cross-border project as economically ineffective.
"The processes surrounding the TRIPP project are not slowing down; on the contrary, they are gaining pace . I recently discussed the issue of providing the route with power transmission lines, and there isn't a single working day that goes by without me discussing this topic and giving specific instructions. The processes surrounding the route are gaining momentum, and there is no doubt that the project has a significant economic component," Pashinyan said.
He also noted that he is pleased with Azerbaijan's interest in implementing the project, as well as with their approach and strong commitment from Baku. He expressed confidence that the project's pace will accelerate.
It should be noted that Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev recently stated that the highway, which is part of the "Trump Route," is 90% complete, and the railway is 70% complete. He mentioned this at a meeting of the heads of government of the Organization of Turkic States, as reported by European Pravda. Aliyev expressed hope that the project will be fully completed in the near future. "Regarding the implementation of the Zangezur Corridor, the road is nearly 90 % complete, and the railway is about 70 % complete. I hope that this project will be fully realized in the near future," he noted.
Aliyev also added that the construction of the Kars-Nakhchivan railway has begun in Turkey. "Thus, cooperation and the coordinated implementation of these projects will open a new important international corridor," he said.
Recall, the declaration establishing the "Trump Route" was signed by the leaders of Armenia, the United States, and Azerbaijan on August 8, 2025, during a meeting at the White House. This transport corridor will pass through Armenia's Syunik region. Although Armenia will retain sovereignty over its territory, the route will be managed by a private American company.
