ArmInfo.Estonia has extensive experience in combating hybrid threats, which it is ready to share with Armenia, as stated by Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsakhna at a joint press conference with his Armenian counterpart, Ararat Mirzoyan, in Yerevan.
Tsakhna stated that Estonia has been facing similar threats since 2007, while acknowledging that they come not only from Russia but also from North Korea. "We are ready to share our experience with Armenia, and we are already doing so. We also have much to learn from you. You have elections coming up, and it is crucial that these elections be democratic and transparent. We see that many forces around Armenia, including Russia and others, are not happy with the opportunity for the people to freely express their will," the Estonian Foreign Minister said. He added that success can only be achieved with political will, and this will exists.
Recall, Radio Liberty had reported that they had a letter from Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan to Brussels at their disposal, in which he "requested the dispatch of a rapid response team to Yerevan to counter Kremlin disinformation and Russian interference in the parliamentary elections in Armenia." In this regard, it was recalled that the EU sent a similar team of approximately 20 people to Chisinau during last year's parliamentary elections "to help Moldovan authorities identify and counter disinformation emanating from Russia on social media." It should be added that the EU's top diplomat, Kaja Kallas, previously announced the allocation of 15 million EUR to Armenia to "counter Russian propaganda."
