
ArmInfo.Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin and Armenian Ambassador to the Russian Federation Gurgen Arsenyan exchanged views on current issues in bilateral relations at a meeting on April 10, in light of the recent talks in Moscow between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
According to the Russian Foreign Ministry press service, the importance of active joint work to implement the agreements reached at the highest level was emphasized, including cooperation in trade, economic, cultural, and humanitarian spheres, as well as on within common integration associations.
"Regional issues were discussed in terms of developing economic cooperation and establishing transport links in the South Caucasus, as well as continuing the activities of the 3+3 Regional Cooperation Platform," the Russian Foreign Ministry reported, adding that the meeting was held in a friendly atmosphere.
It should be noted that Putin and Pashinyan held talks in Moscow on April 1. The meeting took place in a rather tense atmosphere, with the parties exchanging mutual grievances. The Russian leader emphasized Moscow's position on Yerevan's claims against the CSTO, the Nagorno-Karabakh issue, Yerevan's integration into the EU, and further cooperation with the Eurasian Economic Union. The sides also discussed the construction of a nuclear power plant and the persecution of Russian businessman Samvel Karapetyan in Armenia. In turn, Pashinyan assured the friendly nature of bilateral relations, recalled the claims against the CSTO, attempted to shift responsibility for the surrender of Artsakh to Russia, and stated that Russian citizens will not be able to participate in political processes in Armenia.
