ArmInfo. An action of civil disobedience started early today in the center of Yerevan. Activists  and supporters of the Tavush for the Motherland movement began to block the streets with garbage cans and street benches, and the police indiscriminately detained citizens.

Human rights activist, ex- Ombudsman of Artsakh Ruben Melikyan wrote on his Facebook account. He said that medical assistance is currently being provided to the citizen. 

ArmInfo. Law enforcement officers detained participants in the disobedience actions. According  to various sources, about 50 citizens have already been brought into custody. Law enforcement officials use disproportionate force to detain them. This is evidenced by video footage that has spread online.

MP from the "Hayastan" opposition faction, Gegham Manukan, reported this to RFE/RL's Armenian Service , noting that we are talking about both securing the signatures of 36 MPs necessary to  initiate the process, and the candidate for the post of new prime minister.

ArmInfo. The Investigative Committee of Armenia detained two participants in the protest carried out by  the Tavush for the Motherland initiative and its supporters in Yerevan, who were carrying folding knives.
