ArmInfo. The work on extinguishing residual fires in the territory of the state reserve  "Khosrov Forest" continues. According to the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Armenia, on August 20, 100 rescuers and 10 forestry employees took part in these works. On the territory of the reserve works were carried out on extinguishing 149  smoking foci and 5 smoking trees.  On the spot, officers of the Ararat regional administration of the Police of Armenia are on duty.

ArmInfo.According to the preliminary data of Ministry of Emergency Situations of Armenia, on  the territory of state reserve Khosrov Forest as a whole, vegetation perimeter was 16 km thick, of which 360 hectares of forest. The forest fire in Vayots Dzor destroyed grass coverings with a perimeter of about 15 km, 320 hectares of which were forests. This was stated by the Deputy Minister of Emergency Elections of Armenia David Karapetyan, presenting August 17 at a government meeting on the territory of the reserve.

It  is envisaged to make 2 sorties to extinguish fires that have  enveloped a number of regions of Armenia.

The  leadership of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Armenia sent  the request for assistance to its Russian counterparts.

This was reported by the press service of the ministry."In accordance with  the request of the Government of the Republic of Armenia, the  Government of the Russian Federation instructed the EMERCOM of Russia  to send an Il-76 jet equipped with jet aircraft to Yerevan to  extinguish forest fires on the territory of the Khosrov Forest," the  spokesman said.

Minister of Emergency Situations of Armenia David Tonoyan appealed to his Russian counterpart Vladimir Puchkov for help to provide a helicopter to extinguish a forest fire in the Khosrov Reserve of Armenia. Meanwhile, rescuers continue work on putting out a fire in the reserve, where from 200 to 250 liters of grass and woodland on the "Winter" and adjacent territories from 12:30 on Saturday.
