ArmInfo. The OSCE Minsk Group was founded at the Bucharest Summit and now it exists and we support it. OSCE Chairperson-in-Office, Foreign Minister of North Macedonia Bujar Osmani stated on April 13 at a joint press conference with Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan, referring to Azerbaijan's claims that the OSCE Minsk Group has expired.
At the same time, he added that they are aware of the opposing assessments of some of the parties on its work, as well as changed geopolitical circumstances stemming from the war of Russia in Ukraine. "It also changes the dynamics of interaction between the Minsk mediators, who, on the basis of this, do not come together to do their work. Therefore, the Minsk Group is frozen at the moment ," he said, adding that this does not mean that the OSCE Minsk Group will not be able to play a role when the situation changes.
At the same time, the diplomat reminded that the OSCE is not only the Minsk Group, and it has a number of tools and mechanisms that can be presented to promote the peace process between Armenians and Azerbaijanis. "I am here to stimulate the peace process by offering this flexible OSCE toolkit for reconciliation, confidence-building measures and to achieve a comprehensive and lasting peace between the two countries," Osmani said, adding that his Personal Representative arrived in the region with him, who is well aware of the problem and is ready to help achieve peace.
