ArmInfo. The aggression that ensured Azerbaijan's victory over Nagorno-Karabakh in the fall of 2020 deprived the Azerbaijani dictator Ilham Aliyev of his sense of proportion, and the silent encouragement of the international community became a reason for his permissiveness.
Thus, on November 8, in occupied Shushi, Aliyev once again boasted about his aggression against Nagorno-Karabakh and Armenia, this time threatening Iran as well. In this regard, he assured that the Azerbaijani side is strengthening its army and is able to repel anyone.
"Armenia should know that it is not the statement of some patron of Armenia that keeps us within the current framework, but our own policy. We are not afraid of anyone. If we were afraid of anyone, we would never have started the Second Karabakh War. Despite the fact that the war ended two years ago, there are disturbing moments," he said, once again expressing territorial claims against the Armenians of Nagorno-Karabakh.
Once again recognizing that Azerbaijan occupied the Armenian territories, he again threatened with a new war. "They (Armenians - ed. note) must understand this in order not to become a victim for the second time of those who sit abroad and want to consider this region as a playground. We have the main influence, the main say here. Our army showed heroism, professionalism and selflessness. If necessary, we will once again demonstrate this and achieve what we want, everyone knows this, let those who conduct military exercises in support of Armenia on our border know this. Nobody can scare us," Aliyev started saber- rattling against Iran .
The permanent leader of Azerbaijan, inspired by the inaction of the civilized international community, also boasted about the September aggression of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces against the sovereign territories of Armenia. "The events of September 13-14 did not just happen. Our response could be a little less if they fulfilled their obligations. Our response could be tougher if we wanted a new war. We do not want this, we do not want bloodshed. We just want our right," Aliyev said, without explaining what this right consists of: to torture prisoners of war, to rape, kill and dismember helpless women, or to bomb civilians and civilian institutions?
For greater confidence, he decided to demonstrate his strength in front of Russia, and continued to repeat like a mantra that Russian peacekeepers were deployed in Artsakh temporarily.
"Russian peacekeepers are temporarily deployed there, their term is indicated in the statement dated November 10, 2020, and if they rely on anyone, they will still face tragedy," Aliyev said, thus not hiding what fate awaits the population of Nagorno Karabakh after the withdrawal of the Russian peacekeepers.
He also boasted that international players, for the most part, supported the Azerbaijani aggression against Artsakh, since "caviar diplomacy" and "petrodollars" poured in over the decades have brought their desired results.
"Of course, some foreign patrons of Armenia want to accuse us of something. I answered them too. Again, if they start shouting again, I will answer them. This will not stop me," said Aliyev, inspired by Turkey's support.
