ArmInfo. The peace agenda of Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has failed. Former Deputy Speaker of the RA Parliament, press secretary of the Republican Party of Armenia Eduard Sharmazanov, shares a similar opinion.
In this vein, he drew attention to the fact that even Pashinyan's supporters and clients admit that a military provocation is being prepared.
"And this is in the case when we are tired of repeating that we cannot play the game of the Turks and Azerbaijanis. But, instead, the Nikolists (members of the team of the current Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia, ed. note), beheaded the Artsakh Defense Army, agreed to demarcation and delimitation, accepted five points of Azerbaijan (on the normalization of relations, ed. note), gave up the idea of independence of Artsakh, were afraid to visit Artsakh, gave away a section of the Goris-Kapan road, Azerbaijanis occupied 41 sq. km of the territory of the Republic of Armenia," Sharmazanov stated.
According to him, after the hostilities of 2020, not a single step was taken towards re-equipping the country's army.
"And now, they are screaming like hares, that they do not rule out a military provocation. You are to blame for all this, who are you outraged at? Or do you have to hand over some new territories in the scenario with a new military escalation or under the threat of it?" Sharmazanov asked on his Facebook page.
In turn, former Deputy Minister of Defense of Armenia Artak Zakaryan expressed his conviction that Armenia faces a triple threat- internal, regional and global, and if the opposition fails to neutralize the most important of the three threats , the internal one, then we can talk about the process of destroying the state.
At the same time, Zakaryan assures that the opposition today has a full opportunity to neutralize the security threats facing Armenia.
"In this process, the opposition has not yet succeeded in a very important thing - to involve the largest possible number of people and enlist their direct support," the politician said.
Speaking about the second threat to Armenia, Zakaryan expressed his conviction that it is necessary to calculate all the processes that may cause new threats to Armenia. He stressed that it is not only about the military or physical security of the country, but also food, communication, educational, demographic, value, and spiritual security.
"What are the current authorities doing? They are purposefully destroying the semantic pillars of the existence of the state - the ability to independently defend itself and act in a unified manner," he said at the "Real Agenda of Armenia" discussions initiated by the "Armenia" and "I have honor" parliamentary factions. "As for the third level - global threats that are associated with a change in the balance of power in the world," Zakaryan continued, "I suggest that the two opposition parliamentary factions form a group to develop a new security strategy, since the security strategy adopted earlier by the authorities is absolutely useless."
Since the beginning of September, the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry has been reporting on a daily basis about provocations on the front line from the Armenian side. And the defense department of Armenia refutes the information of the enemy. We also add that last week a conscript soldier of the RA Armed Forces died from an enemy bullet on the front line.
Today, Ambassador-at-Large of the Republic of Armenia Edmon Marukyan called on the international community to respond appropriately to stop the provocation that Azerbaijan is preparing on the border with Armenia
