ArmInfo. We are closely following the developments in Ukraine. This is stated in a statement by press secretary of the Armenian Foreign Ministry Vahan Hunanyan in response to numerous media inquiries, including ArmInfo, regarding the developments around Ukraine and the activities of the Armenian diplomatic mission in this country.
"The diplomatic missions of Armenia in Ukraine (the embassy in Kyiv and the Consulate General in Odessa) are operating in regular mode, while keeping in constant contact with the citizens of Armenia, and will provide them additional guidance, as needed," Unanyan stressed.
It should be noted that in recent months the West has been constantly accusing Moscow of preparing an "invasion of Ukraine", claiming that Russian troops are deployed on the border with a neighboring state. So, yesterday, the Politico newspaper, citing "informed sources", wrote that US President Joe Biden told Western leaders the date of the allegedly planned attack - February 16.
Russia rejects all the plans attributed to it to escalate the conflict in Ukraine and reminds that Kyiv (Kiev) does not comply with the Minsk agreements. The Kremlin and the Foreign Ministry have repeatedly noted that the goal of the "aggression" stories is to build up a foreign group near the Russian borders. They also explained that the main reason for the escalation of the situation is the actions of the United States and NATO, which are arming Ukraine, thereby pushing it towards military adventures.
In addition, US President Joe Biden on February 11 called on Americans to immediately leave Ukraine. According to him, the situation in this country "can get out of control very quickly." A warning calling not to visit Ukraine "due to the increased threat of Russian military operations and COVID-19E was issued by the State Department. Following the United States, the authorities of several other countries recommended that their residents refrain from traveling to Ukraine (Great Britain, the Netherlands, Norway, Finland, Latvia, Estonia, North Macedonia, Montenegro).
