ArmInfo. The National Democratic Pole of Armenia will hold a protest in front of the Embassy of Belarus in Armenia.
The "Protest of Dignity" will take place in response to insulting remarks by President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko.
In an interview with Vladimir Solovyov, the Belarusian president spoke of likely members of a new allied state, which, according to him, will consist of Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Armenia and, if the right policy is pursued, Ukraine.
In speaking of Armenia, Mr Lukashenko made some inappropriate remarks, saying: "Well, Armenia has nowhere to go. Do you think anyone needs them? They have seen. Nikol [Pashinyan] has seen it."
This attitude by Armenia's ally in the EAEU and CSTO has caused a barrage of criticism in Armenia's society.
Vaharshak Hakobyan, a member of the dominant parliamentary faction Civil Contract, stated that as head of state President Lukashenko allowed himself completely unacceptable and inappropriate remarks. The leader of a partner state has no right to make such remarks in speaking of other partners, he said. Armen Rustamyan of the Armenia parliamentary bloc branded President Lukashenko's statement "nonsense" in international diplomatic practice. However, Armenia should look at itself to find the reasons for such remarks.
"We let others talk to us in this manner. And Lukashenko is not the only one doing so. The president of the neighboring state is overtly humiliating and insulting our country and its leader. We have said Armenia has been stripped of its international personality and reputation and ability to defend itself. And we can see it is a reality now. It is the aftermath. Lukashenko is one of the odious people who say what they think, without thinking of the words they use. But it is evidence of serious domestic problems and of what is going on behind the scenes," Mr Rustamyan said.
