ArmInfo. Former residents of the Kashatagh region of Artsakh hold a protest rally in front of the Armenian government building. An ArmInfo correspondent reports.
Head of Haykazian community Armen Chomoyan said that citizens just want to be compensated for their losses. Many territories in which he lived now came under the control of Azerbaijan, and people were forced to leave their homes. According to him, about 13,000 people lost all their property. He also added that due to problems with documents, about 20% of citizens cannot receive compensation.
According to Chomoyan, residents simply want a roof over their heads or funds to purchase houses in rural areas, which will enable them to continue to engage in agriculture. He noted that a similar demand was made to the authorities of Artsakh, however, no answer has yet been received.
The protesters expressed their dissatisfaction with the authorized structures of Armenia, which deal with the refugee issue. They also stressed that they are ready to settle in the villages of Armenia, which are now empty.
