ArmInfo. Head of the "Bright Armenia" faction, Edmon Marukyan, stated that he intends to nominate himself for the post of prime minister in case of dissolution of the parliament.
During a briefing in parliament, Marukyan noted that the agenda of his faction and the ruling bloc diverged.
"We believe that a transitional government should be formed in the country, as a candidate for the post of prime minister, the Bright Armenia nominates me. We with the "Prosperous Armenia" faction do not agree with the agenda of the authorities. They set a precondition, the signing of a memorandum that the opposition should not nominate its own candidate for the post of prime minister. The ruling faction wants to hold early elections at any cost according to its agenda, but our agendas disaccord," Marukyan noted.
The MP noted that he offered to sign a counter-memorandum, in which he promised to hold early elections in case of his election to the post of prime minister. However, Marukyan noted that it was not possible to reach a consensus with the ruling faction.
