ArmInfo.Head of the National Security Service of Armenia Artur Vanetsyan, in an interview with reporters, touched upon the statement of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan that important documents had disappeared from the NSS archive before the revolution.
As Vanetsyan assured, most of the missing documents were restored, transferred to the Special Investigation Service and joined in the investigation of the case on March 1. He said that most of the missing documents related to the events of March 1, 2008. "An official investigation has been carried out on the fact," he said, adding that these documents contain very remarkable information about the events of March 1, 2008.
The NSS Director also touched upon another statement by Pashinyan about his top-secret document regarding the internal political situation in Armenia in 2014, which, according to Pashinyan, spoke about the total institutional crisis in the Republic of Armenia due to the corruption of state institutions. Vanetsyan assured that he was not familiar with the content of the secret document. "If, after reading this, I will see that these documents contain materials containing the corpus delicti, of course, they will be given a move forward," Vanetsyan said.
It should be noted that today the BBC, referring to secret documents in the case of March 1, 2008, which were at its disposal, reported that the ex-deputy head of the Artsakh Defense Army Samvel Karapetyan was commanded the execution of demonstrators during the March events of 2008 (Oganovsky). According to the publication, the names of two former presidents of Armenia, as well as two large oligarchs, whose names are not indicated, also appear in the case.
