ArmInfo. At the March 26 sitting, the National Assembly of Armenia rejected the legislative initiative of the Prosperous Armenia faction to include the draft Labor Code amendments to the NA agenda.
According to one of the authors of the presented document Gevorg Petrosyan, it is proposed, in particular, to amend the Labor Code to allow an employer to dismiss an employee if he does not come to work without a good reason for at least one day. If he is physically present at work, but does not work, then, in the opinion of the lawmaker, he should be dismissed after three notifications. Thus, as Petrosyan stressed, the interests of employers will be protected.
However, both the government and MPs from the ruling "My Step" bloc considered that this measure is presented in the current legislation and does not require the application of additional sanctions.
