ArmInfo.Lawyers of the second president Robert Kocharyan have appealed to the ECHR.
As the press service of Kocharyan's defense told ArmInfo, the complaint was filed with the ECHR on the grounds of paragraph 3 of Part 2 of Art. 6 of the European Convention, on the basis of violations of the presumption of innocence and the right of defense.
Kocharyan's defense also informs that the complaint to the ECHR was filed without exhaustion of national courts, as domestic courts consider the means for this case to be ineffective, as detailed in the submitted complaint.
Earlier, it was reported that Robert Kocharyan filed a lawsuit against Nikol Pashinyan, demanding protection of honor and dignity from public slander. The lawsuit was based on Pashinyan's public statements made during his visit to France concerning Robert Kocharyan. It is noteworthy that the lawsuit was returned to the claimants several times, demanding follow-up revision.
