ArmInfo. If Armenia expects that the amount of aid and the amount of cooperation with the EU will be raised to a new level, it needs to create a new image of the republic that looks to the future, which has a very clear idea of its priorities, especially if it requires a large investment. This was stated by the head of the EU delegation in Armenia, Piotr Switalski, in an interview with journalists.
''That is, the matter mainly concerns infrastructure projects. They should be considered in the long term. They ask me what attitude does the EU have? I answer, it all depends on our Armenian partners. If Armenians show that they, in a good sense, can use this money, create a positive image, then more funds will be directed to Armenia, "he explained.
He also noted that Armenia has requested $ 1.5 million for early elections. At the same time, Switalski noted that traditionally everything is done slowly in the EU, and such funds are not allocated quickly, however, in the case of Armenia, the situation was different. "We will finance 100 long-term observers and 1600 short-term ones for holding early parliamentary elections," he added, adding that if Armenia demonstrates that it can purposefully spend the money allocated to it by the EU, good prospects will arise.
