ArmInfo.On October 31, at the initiative of the Armenian government an extraordinary meeting of the National Assembly of Armenia will be held. This decision was made at a meeting of the executive body on October 25.
Presenting the draft agenda of the extraordinary meeting, RA Minister of Justice Artak Zeinalian informed that the issue of amnesty for the prisoners will be discussed at it. The amnesty will be timed to the 2800th anniversary of Yerevan and the 100th anniversary of the First Armenian Republic.
In turn, Acting First Deputy Prime Minister Ararat Mirzoyan said that on the same day, elections of the Prime Minister will be held in the Parliament, but this will happen at another hour and will not prevent consideration of the amnesty issue.
To note the last time the amnesty was announced in October 2013.
To recall on October 24 Acting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan was not elected as Prime Minister. If the head of government is not re-elected within the next 7 days, the country's parliament will be dissolved and early parliamentary elections will be held, which will tentatively be held on December 7-8 of this year.
