ArmInfo.By the decision of the European Court of Human Rights, the government of Armenia in the framework of the March 1, 2008 case is obliged to provide compensation to Masis Ayvazyan and Grigor Voskerchyan.
According to the decision, Article 5 of the European Convention on Human Rights (the right to liberty and security of the person) was violated in respect of Grigor Voskerchyan, and in respect of Masis Ayvazyan - hh. 1 and 3 of Article 5 of the European Convention on Human Rights. The European Court of Human Rights acknowledged that the deprivation of liberty of Masis Ayvazian and Grigor Voskerchyan was unfounded and did not have a proper base.
The ECtHR obliged the Armenian government to pay Grigor Voskerchyan 3,000 euros in compensation, and Masis Ayvazyan -4500 euros.
Earlier, the ECHR forced the Armenian government to pay compensation to another defendant in the same case - Mushegh Saghatelyan in the amount of 15.600 euros.
