ArmInfo. Armenia's foreign policy is not developed at the expense of relations with other partners, Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan announced on August 24 at a joint press conference with German Chancellor Angela Merkel, commenting on the issue of Armenia's relations with the EU and the EEU.
According to the Prime Minister, the new government of Armenia after the velvet revolution has repeatedly stated that it does not intend to change the foreign policy of the country. "We do not intend to make turns and reversals in foreign policy, and we will develop relations with both the Russian Federation, the EEU and the CSTO, and with the EU, in particular, with Germany," he said. At the same time, the Prime Minister said, this position was presented during the discussions with Mrs. Merkel. "We do not see contradictions and the need for counterbalances," Pashinyan said. In turn, Angela Merkel noted that in this context Armenia can be an excellent example of how a state can have equally good relations with both EU and EEU.
