ArmInfo. "It is often stated that Armenia's state budget is too meager and there is not enough money for a lot of programs. But when we see how incompetently the funds are wasted and some still remains, we realize that the treasury is not that insignificant, "Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said at a meeting with residents of the Berd of the Tavoush region on August 10. According to him, henceforth the government does not intend to tolerate this situation any longer.
According to the Prime Minister, at present the government is ready to provide communities with 10-15 billion drams in the form of subventions (programs that are financed 40% by communities, 60% by the government - ed. note.). The government wants, but it can not do that. According to Pashinyan, it turned out that the regions are not ready yet to accept the allocated funds, first, due to the lack of co-financing from the communities themselves, and secondly, due to the lack of relevant programs. According to the Prime Minister, such a situation is the result of the authorities' non-compassionate attitude, their corruptedness, cronyism and protectionism.
"Today everybody should realize that the government does not intend to tolerate this situation any longer. If we are faced with the choice - to bear plunder, or to arrest, then we say to those who are guided by the old logic, "we have to choose the second," Pashinyan said, urging everyone to engage in a constructive dialogue.
To recall, at the meeting on July 5 with the leaders of the communities of Syunik region in Goris municipality the Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan stated that instead of the planned 5 billion drams in 2018, the government in the form of subventions to the communities will allocate 10 billion drams from the funds returned to the state as a result of revealing corrupt cases and schemes of tax evasion.
