ArmInfo. The Prosecutor General's Office of Armenia rejected the petition of 46 Armenian MPs on changing the measure of restraint of the Armenian second president Robert Kocharyan from arrest to release on bail.
The Prosecutor General's Office explained it by the fact that changing measure of restraint from arrest for release on bail may pose a threat to the course of the investigation process.
As it was reported earlier, Speaker of the Armenian Parliament and two Vice Speakers from the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA), MPs Ruzanna Arakelyan, Romik Manukyan and Armenuhi Kyureghyan from Dashnaktsutyun (ARFD) and also Ishkhan Zakaryan from Tsarukyan bloc signed the petition. 15 MPs from Artsakh Parliament also appealed to the Prosecutor General's Office of Armenia. Armenia's second President is accused of breaching the constitutional order in the framework March 1, 2008 events.
