ArmInfo.The US Embassy in Armenia issued a statement condemning the beating of LGBT community representatives in the village of Shurnukh, Syunik region of Armenia.
The statement published on the Facebook page of the embassy reads in part: "The U.S. Embassy condemns all hate crimes, including the violent August 3 attack against nine young LGBTI Armenians. The state is responsible for all Armenians' safety and security''.
To note, a number of Armenian public organizations made a statement condemning the incident in Shurnukh.
To recall, on the evening of July 3, 30 residents of the village of Shurnukh, Syunik region, beat 9 representatives of the LGBT community. Two of them were badly injured and were taken to hospital, seven received first medical aid.
