ArmInfo. Tsarukyan Block does not want to make political comments on the latest developments related to the case on March 1, 2008 events. This was stated by the deputy from the bloc Naira Zohrabyan in an interview with ArmInfo correspondent. "The case is investigated in the legal framework, and we do not consider it expedient to make political statements at this stage," Zohrabyan said, while saying that today she sent a letter to Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan with proposal to declare an amnesty in the country. According to her, this will help to unload the prisons and is a long-awaited humane step.
To note the "Prosperous Armenia" party, the main force of the "Tsarukyan" bloc, was established in 2008 on the initiative of the second president Robert Kocharyan, who is currently being accused in the March 1 case. The leader of the bloc, Gagik Tsarukyan, was Kocharyan's closest associate. Former Defense Minister Mikael Harutyunyan and CSTO Secretary General Yuri Khachaturov are also charged under the case of March 1, 2008. The latter in 2008 was the head of the Yerevan garrison. At present, the former adviser of Kocharyan Armen Gevorgyan, who was considered a "gray cardinal" under the rule of the second president, was also summoned to the Special Investigative Service.
