The head of EU delegation to Armenia Piotr Switalski said this at a press conference on July 16, presenting the results of the periodic survey in the countries of the Eastern Partnership polls. According to the European diplomat, the results of the latest poll are encouraging.
So, according to the inquiry of the perception of the EU by the population of the country, 70% of Armenians trust the EU. "This is an amazing indicator, given that compared to last year, the confidence of the Armenian population in the EU has increased by 5%, while the confidence in the EAEU has fallen to 48%," the ambassador said. 80% of Armenians consider relations with the EU good, 69% positively assess the financial assistance of the EU, and 66% believe in the effectiveness of this assistance, 33%, on the contrary, considers it insufficiently effective, 53% of Armenia's population positively assess EU assistance in their daily lives, and 55% noted the assistance of the European Union in the fight against corruption in the Republic of Armenia. As Ambassador Switalski pointed out, they are satisfied with the results of the annual tete-a-tete survey among 6,000 citizens in Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Moldova, Belarus and Ukraine.
Thus, the indicator of the positive perception of the EU by Armenian citizens turned out to be above the average for the region.
