Armenian and Bulgarian parliamentarians in Sofia, within the framework of the working visit of the Armenian delegation to Bulgaria, signed a memorandum on cooperation, which provides for the exchange of information, activation of cooperation, prompt ratification of previously signed bilateral agreements, as well as the implementation of the planned programs. According to the results of the visit to Bulgaria, the co-chairman of the Armenia-Bulgaria friendship group, Dzhemma Baghdasaryan, stated.
She noted that this was the first visit of the Armenian parliamentary delegation to Bulgaria, but before the Bulgarian parliamentary delegation has already visited Armenia. According to her, during the visit, providing a number of important high-level meetings, special emphasis was placed on the issue of Bulgaria recognize the Armenian Genocide in Ottoman Turkey. The Armenian parliamentarians also thanked Sofia for a balanced position on the Karabakh issue, stressing that the Armenian side is committed exclusively peaceful settlement of the conflict within the OSCE Minsk Group.
Within the framework of the visit, the possibility of opening a direct air service between Yerevan and Sofia was also discussed, which will facilitate activation of bilateral relations and development of tourism.
Despite the fact that Bulgaria is a member of the EU, the Armenian parliamentarians during the visit noticed that Armenia is in some areas of their development is not inferior to her, in particular, we are talking about the areas of constitutional law, economics, energy, agriculture.
The MP also noted that during the visit the representatives of the friendship group met with the Armenian community.
