ArmInfo. There is no military settlement of Karabakh conflict, Chair of the Committee on Foreign Affairs of the European Parliament David McAllister stated at the press conference in Yerevan on June 18.
According to him, it is necessary to find ways to resolve the conflict. "First, the parties need to observe the ceasefire regime, stop confrontational rhetoric and return to the negotiations table." I said this earlier and I will say this again - this conflict does not have a military settlement, and, the status quo, from which people from both sides suffer, is also unacceptable, "the European parliamentarian said. At the same time he added that they are informed that the Azerbaijani side is accumulating the equipment and manpower to the front line. "This raises concern, but we hope that the situation will be depleted, and even more efforts will be applied in the existing formats, to deescalate the situation through negotiations, but in addition, we will consider other mechanisms of assistance," he said.
At the same time, he urged all the parties to make efforts to move towards a final resolution of the problem, avoiding any activities that would deviate from the taken course.
