ArmInfo. Seyran Ohanyan is not the only high-ranking official who will be interrogated within the criminal case on abuses in the Defense Ministry, Chairman of the State Revenues Commitee of Armenia David Ananyan told journalists in the front of the parliament today.
As Ananyan informed the criminal case was initiated related to one certain company, to which a number of high-ranking officials are connected. And as the company operated during Seyran Ohanyan's tenure as Minister he also will be interrogated. '' This is an ordinayr procedure within the investigation fo a creminal case. He is not the only high-ranking person who will be interrogated'', the Chairman said. At the same time Ananyan did not answer to the question whether Ohanayn was invited as a witness or as an accused. "Investigation is underway and providing any information related to process is unreasonable and contradicts to the law", he noted.
As for the information that the former Defense Minister did not receive notice, the Chairman of the Committee informed that it was sent on June 12. On June 13 Ohanyan stated that he had not received any notice. Ananyan noted that this may be true, as on June 13 Ohanyan might not receive the notice, which was sent to him on June 12. However, the interrogation will take place in the coming days. On June 13 ArmInfo informed that former Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan, as well as a number of former and current high-ranking officials of the Armenian Defense Ministry were summoned for questioning to the Investigation Department of the State Revenue Committee. As the press service of SRC reported, they were summoned to the Investigation Department as part of investigative activities conducted in the criminal case on abuses in procurements and army construction in the Ministry of Defense of Armenia in the period from 2014 to 2017.
