ArmInfo. The Armenia-EU comprehensive and expanded partnership agreement is a very clear and effective instrument in our hands for strengthening and promoting the development agenda of the country that serves its national interests. This opinion was expressed in an interview with Radio Azatutyun by Armenian Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan, referring to the partial entry into force on June 1 of this year of the Armenia-EU framework agreement.
In his deep conviction, this is one of the most successful examples, when foreign policy serves internal purposes. According to him, in this case we are talking about the institutional development of Armenia, raising the social standard of living. Mnatsakanyan recalled that the framework agreement is quite comprehensive and includes a broad framework of cooperation with the EU, it allows using the experience and opportunities that will serve the country's goals. Answering a question about the possibilities in 2013 lost by Armenia after refusing to sign the Association Agreement and the prospects of restoring these losses, Mnatsakanyan urged not to consider everything in a black and white light. "I would not like to see everything in black and white and state that we lost and restored, since Armenia as a sovereign state for 27 years, being a member of the United Nations, had its own policy." And what is happening today also fits into the logic of today's The reality is that we are one of the 193 states of the world, who have their own region, immediate neighbors, the formed security system, the tasks, goals and challenges in which we build and maintain our position and approaches, the main goal which - to ensure the reliability of our security systems and all possible levers of development of our country in this case, we have reached the point where the terms of validity, we can use these levers "-. Mnatsakanyan concluded.
To note, from June 1, the partial implementation of the Armenia-EU comprehensive and expanded partnership agreement signed in November 2017 began. According to the statements of the official high- ranking officials from Yerevan and Brussels, thanks to this, it will be possible to implement 80% of the agreement. The agreement will be fully implemented only after all EU member states have ratified the agreement. To date, the agreement has been ratified by Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia.
