Commenting on the fact that the RPA representatives last time also stated that they would not impede the election of Pashinyan, but unanimously voted "against", Baghdasaryan stated that the Republican Party did not prevent the voting last time, but now its representatives will support Pashinyan's candidacy.
Asked whether the MPs who vote for Pashinyan's candidacy, Baghdasaryan said: "If they do not vote, then how will it pass? Please, leave this question to us, we will solve it ourselves."
In his turn, MP from the RPA Samvel Nikoyan stated that the party made a decision which will be done. However, refused to disclose all the cards and to report on how the MPs from the Republican Party will vote.
To note, at a special meeting of the Armenian Parliament on May 1, the candidate for the post of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan was not elected. "For" Pashinyan's candidacy was voted 45, "against" 56 deputies. Against the Republican Party, "for" the ARF, "Block Tsarukyan" and the faction "Elk". However, on May 2, RPA representatives stated that on May 8 they will not nominate their candidacy for the post of prime minister, and they will support Pashinyan's candidacy.
