ArmInfo. The leader of Make a Step movement, MP Nikol Pashinyan advised the ruling Republican Party not to try to win time.
"The RPA is now trying to gain time, but I would advise them not to do so. The RPA is now trying to appoint Karapetyan as prime minister, and believes that the people are so naive that they will agree to change one Republican to another," the oppositionist said.
Reacting to the statement of Karapetyan that the premier is not chosen on the square - this contradicts the Armenian legislation, Pashinyan expressed his belief that Karen Karapetyan did not understand his words. "The prime minister should be elected in the National Assembly, according to the law he should be nominated by the faction, and before that the people in the square should give their consent," he said. At the same time, the oppositionist did not rule out that the "Elk" faction would nominate its candidate.
To the remark that the RPA will not vote for the candidate proposed by the "Yelk", Pashinyan asked: "So they want to find a way out of the current situation? They are no longer the authorities in Armenia and should not be, that's all it says."
He also stressed that they block early elections if they would be announced.
Pashinyan stated that the nation won and now they need to register the results of this victory.
