ArmInfo. Today in Istanbul, they will pay tribute to the memory of the victims of the Armenian Genocide.
At the initiative of the Istanbul branch of the Organization for Human Rights, today a commemorative event will be held in the Sultan Ahmed Square, opposite the Turkish Islamic Works Museum. "The building of this museum in 1915 was a prison where Armenians were kept before death, thus, this building is perceived by us as a place symbolizing condemnation for denying genocide," the organization said in a statement. Today, Istanbul will also pay tribute to the memory of the Armenian Sevak Balykchy, who was killed by his fellow soldier in the Armed Forces of Turkey on April 24, 2011.
