ArmInfo. Due to the "technical error", the full text of the report on the activity of the Ombudsman's office for 2017 was not sent to the National Assembly of Armenia. This is stated in the message of the Office of the Human Rights Defender, which arrived in ArmInfo.
From the Ombudsman's report, by the strange coincidence of circumstances, it was the head that spoke about violations during the parliamentary elections in 2017: the mass distribution of bribes, cases of violence, the total use of administrative resources by the ruling party, and obstruction of the work of the media. The report notes that these phenomena had a negative impact on public confidence in the electoral processes, creating the impression of impunity prevailing in the country.
The "technical mistake", that is, the absence of this chapter in the report, was noticed and eliminated by the Ombudsman's office only after numerous publications of the media, who, after revealing this fact, rushed to classify the human rights defender as a "midfielder" or "Republican Party Ombudsman".
The Ombudsman's office has already sent the final version of the document to the National Assembly, which will be considered during the forthcoming four-year mission.
