ArmInfo. The CSTO does not have the authority to intervene in hostilities that take place on the territory of Karabakh. On April 4, at a press conference, ex-Minister of Defense of Armenia Vagharshak Harutyunyan stated.
The ex-minister said that the treaty with the CSTO was concluded by Armenia, and not by Karabakh, and the structure can intervene in the situation only if direct aggression against Armenia is applied. "Our public constantly accuses the CSTO of the fact that the structure has not interfered in the situation, but with the same success, we can wonder why NATO remained indifferent," Harutyunyan said. On the question whether it is possible that Azerbaijan received Russia's "good" for the beginning of the April events, the former defense minister said that such opinions are completely untrue. Moreover, according to Harutyunyan, Russia at the moment, is absolutely not beneficial escalation in the region.
