ArmInfo. The Armenian government approved amendments to the law "On the structure of the government" at the meeting on February 1, which will be sent to the National Assembly of Armenia in the established order.
According to RA Minister of Justice David Harutyunyan, the new government of Armenia, which will be formed after April this year, will consist of the Prime Minister, First Deputy Prime Minister, two Vice- Premiers and Ministers. At the same time, the number of ministries will not change, they will be 18. The new government will be formed within 15 days after the appointment of the Prime Minister. After the appointment, the prime minister must present to the president the candidacies of vice-premiers and ministers within five days. The president either immediately appoints ministers, or appeals to the Constitutional Court, which must confirm the compliance of the candidate for this position. The government is considered formed if at least two-thirds of Cabinet members are appointed. A member of the government assumes office from the moment of promulgation of the decree of the president. The appointed ministers will take an oath in the presence of the president in his residence. The government's meetings will be held in closed session, which, according to Harutyunyan, will enable the members of the Cabinet to conduct a frank and interested conversation on various issues. Governments of almost all countries of the world hold their meetings in this format. But in the case of citizens' awareness of a number of issues, the prime minister's decision may retransfer certain issues on the agenda. It should be noted that according to the rumors, the current Prime Minister will be occupied by the current President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan, and the current Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan is the first vice- premier.
