ArmInfo. A compromise on Karabakh should be courageous, - French President Emmanuel Macron said during a meeting with Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan in France on a working visit.
"I know how difficult it is to promote peace and therefore I wish the meetings of the Presidents of Armenia and Azerbaijan to be crowned with concrete results," Macron said.
At the same time, the French president positively noted every meeting of the presidents of the conflicting countries, expressing hope for the success of the mediation efforts of France, Russia and the United States.
The OSCE Minsk Group has been dealing with the settlement of the Karabakh conflict since 1992, represented by the co-chairs from Russia, the United States and France. Currently, the settlement process is based on the Madrid Principles put forward by the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs in 2007 and updated in 2009, including, among other things, the deployment of a peacekeeping contingent in the conflict zone.
