ArmInfo.Armenian Ambassador to the Czech Republic Tigran Seyranyan met with the newly elected Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies of the Czech Parliament Radek Vondratchek, representing the ANO movement ("The action of dissatisfied citizens").
The sides discussed a wide range of issues of expansion and deepening of Armenian-Czech relations, expressed satisfaction with the existing level of bilateral inter-parliamentary cooperation, stressing the importance of further development of relations, including through mutual visits at a high level, the press service of the Armenian Foreign Ministry told ArmInfo.
Seyranyan expressed the hope that a group of friendship with Armenia will also be formed in the Lower Chamber of the Czech Parliament. The Ambassador also expressed gratitude to the Czech side for the adoption in April 2017 of a resolution condemning the Armenian Genocide in the Ottoman Empire. The diplomat presented the latest developments in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. In this context, Vondracek confirmed the position of the Czech Republic in supporting the efforts of the OSCE Minsk Group on an exclusively peaceful settlement of the Karabakh conflict.
The interlocutors also stressed the importance of continuing programs of cooperation with the European Union. In this regard, the Armenian diplomat expressed hope that the Chamber of Deputies will ratify the Armenia-EU framework agreement, signed on November 24, 2017 in Brussels, as soon as possible.
