ArmInfo.European Community pays high importance to signing the Agreement on Comprehensive Cooperation with Armenia, said Piotr Switalski, the head of EU Delegation to RA during the conference on Corruption Prevention and Human Rights Protection: Implementation of GREGO recommendations in Armenia.
According to the Ambassador, European entities do their best to reach the effective management, corruption struggle and improvement of justice framework in Armenia. Switalski accentuated thet during recent months Armenia took a number of important steps in respect to the corruption struggle, including anti-corruption regulations. At the same time, the diplomat noted that real achievements will be visible when these laws are applied in practice
He also stressed that the fight against corruption will acquire a new character after the signing of the Armenia-EU Agreement on Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership. Switalski also stressed the need to implement the recommendations of GRECO to increase the transparency of the policy, protect it from the impact of business and other factors. "For our part, we are determined to continue cooperation on the basis of the signed agreement," he concluded.
